Here’s recipe number 1:
Christmas Recipe 1 – Cranberry Spritzer Infused With Cinnamon and Cumin.
Enjoy this recipe for the Vodka Spritzer!
- 1 cup of fresh or frozen Cranberries;
- ¼ cup of Honey;
- ½ cup of Water;
- 2 Tablespoons Whole Cumin Seeds;
- 4 Cinnamon Sticks;
- 3 cups of unsweetened Cranberry Juice
- 2 medium organic Oranges, each cut into 8 wedges
- Optional: ½ Cup of Vodka
- 3 cups of Sparkling Water
For The Garnish
- Additional Cinnamon Sticks
- 6 long Rosemary Sprigs, lower leaves removed, and threaded with fresh Cranberries
Add the cranberries, honey, water, cumin seeds, and cinnamon sticks to a small saucepan. Place on a medium heat. Gently heat and stir occasionally, for 8-10 minutes. Ensure that the honey is completely melted and you notice the spices have become intensely fragrant.
Remove from the heat and transfer to a large glass or ceramic bowl. Let cool slightly.
Add the cranberry juice, orange wedges, and the vodka, (if you are using it ). Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, but it is even better if left in the fridge overnight.
Once the mix is thoroughly chilled, remove from refrigerator. Remove the orange wedges and squeeze each of them into the bowl, and then discard the orange peel. Strain the mixture through muslin cloth or a fine mesh strainer and discard any solids.
Fill your serving glasses with ice and then pour in your seasoned cranberry juice filling each glass to a 1/3. Then top up each glass with sparkling water and give a gentle stir to combine.
Taste and sweeten with additional honey, if desired. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and the rosemary skewers. Serve immediately.
